A book of collection of essays by veteran writer Santosh Sangra “Vichar Aaushad” was released today by Hemant Sharma, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu in a function organised by Dogri Sanstha, Jammu. A large number of writers, theatre personalities, stage artists and prominent citizens were present in a simple but impressive function.
Hemant Sharma, who was the Chief Guest in the function lauded the efforts of Sangra who has penned down these thought provoking and inspiring essays in the book and appreciated Dogri Sanstha, which has been providing platform to creative writers to bring forth their works. He said, these essays, which are aimed at strengthening the moral and social values form the basis of civilized societies and should be reiterated time and again.
Earlier, Prof. Lalit Mangotra, President of Dogri Sanstha, while welcoming the audience said that Santosh Sangra is a multifaceted and very talented writer artiste who has proved her mettle in various fields of art and literature. She is exceptional radio and stage artiste and a well-known short story writer, who has now come up with this collection of essays, which reflect her contemplative nature and her social and moral concerns. He hoped that these essays will be a source of inspiration and spiritual enlightenment, which is the aim of the writer.
Prof. Veena Gupta, a well-known scholar-critic read a paper on the released book in which she dealt in detail with the literary merits of the book. According to her, the book contains many ideas and thoughts which are very original and compel the reader to reflect deeply on them.
Santosh Sangra, the author, read one essay from the book and also shared her experiences and ideas with the audience.
Dr. Nirmal Vinod, General Secretary of Dogri Sanstha conducted the programme and Dr. Chanchal Bhasin, Secretary of Sanstha thanked the audience.
