A Multilingual Poetic Symposium Held Dogri Sanstha Jammu organised a multilingual mushaira at KL Sehgal Hall yesterday. Prof. Lalit Magotra presided over the Mushaira and Ramesh Mehta, renowned Hindi poet was the Chief Guest on the occasion and renowned Punjabi writer Prof. Surinder Seerat was the Guest of honour.
The poets who participated in the Mushaira include Dr. Anvaar Mirza and Antar Neerav (Pahari); Dr. Javed Rahi (Gojri); Deepak Aarsi, Rajkumar Chandan and Sham Talib (Urdu); Ramesh Mehta, Dr. Kishori Lal Bhatia, Prof. Chanchal Dogra, Prof. Vijay Saraf ‘Meenaghi’ and Shyam Bihari (Hindi); Dr. Monojit, Smt. Surinder Neer, Amar Singh Kukka, Harnam Singh and Jang S. Verman(Punjabi) and Susheel Begana, Randhir Singh Raipuria and Prof. Lalit Magotra(Dogri). The poems rendered by the poets, who are all leading poets of their respective languages, were of high literary level and indicated the high standard of poetry being written here.
A large number of literature lovers and prominent writers of Hindi, Punjabi, Dogri, Urdu, Gojari and Pahari attended this program. Prof. Lalit Magotra, while presenting presidential address, said that main aim of the composite Mushaira was to provide a common platform to poets of this region.
He further said that though the language of expression of the poets is different but the poetry of all poets is the poetry of this region and has common concerns and common issues. This kind of programs foster a spirit of belonging to same roots and commonness of human feelings and human values
The program was conducted by veteran Dogri and Hindi poet Dr. Nirmal Vinod, who is also the General Secretary of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu. At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Chanchal Bhasin, Secretary of Dogri Sanstha thanked the participants and the audience for their contribution to the program.
