Seminars – Dogri Sanstha, Jammu

1	On June 4th 1969, Dogri Sanstha organized a seminar at Jammu, in which Sh. Shiv Nath , Sh. Balraj Puri and Sh. Bansilal Gupta presented their papers. These scholars had come especially from Delhi to participate in the seminar.
2	On 5th October 1969, a seminar on Mahatma Gandhi's life was organized by Dogri Sanstha on the birth Centenary of Mahatma Gandhi. Sh. Deenu Bhai Pant and Prof. Baldev Singh presented papers.
3	On 19th -20th November 1971, a two day seminar on Dogri spellings in Dogri was organised. More than 20 papers were presented in the seminar and about 60 writers took part in the seminar.
4	On 16th October 1977, a seminar on unwritten history of Dogras was held at Tikkri. Participants of the seminar were Sh. Ram Lal Sharma, Sh. Vidya Rattan Khajuria, Sh. Om Goswami, Sh. Shiv Ram Deep, Sh. Narayan Mishra Shastri, Sh. Onkar Singh presented their papers on "Chanasiya Raje" concerning the history of Miyaan Deedo with the Rajas of Chanaas. On 23rd October 1977, the 2nd part of the Seminar on Unwritten History of the Dogras was held in Village Kanha Chakka. Prof. Raj Dev Singh presented a paper on "Kanha Chakka and History of Dogras. A Book "Marh Block De Shaheed" by Surinder Gandalgaal was also released.
5	On 21st December 1980, a seminar on Dogri folk Ballads was held at Tikkri. Sh. Ashok Jerath read a paper on 'Dogri Baaraan: Naan Te Vergikaran Di Samasya'. Prof. Ram Nath Shastri, Prof. Nilamber Dev Sharma, Sh Balraj Puri, Sh. Ved Pal Deep, Prof. Baldev Singh, Sh. Ram Lal Sharma, Sh Ashwani Magotra, Sh. Gauri Singh and many others from Jammu participated.
6	On 26th April 1981, a seminar on 'Qaiddi' Kunwar Viyogi, Sh. Shiv Nirmohi, Dr. Champa Sharma and Sh. Ashok Jerath presented papers on the various aspects of the novel written by Sh. Desh Bandhu Sharma.
7	On 21st-2nd February, 1982, a seminar on "Kavi Dattu Da Jeevan Te Usdi Kavya Saadhana" was organized at Bhaddu, birth place of Kavi Dattu. The paper was presented by Prof. Ram Nath Shastri.
8	On 6th March, 1982, a seminar on "Leela Vati and "Vyavhaar Geeta" by Jyotshi Vishweshwar was held at Mansar Lake. Sh. Surinder Gandalgaal and Sh. Sham Lal Raina presneted papers.
9	On 22nd January, 1983, a seminar on "Raajaavali" was held at the Oriental Academy, Jammu in which Prof. Ram Nath Shastri read his paper. Sets of Dogri books were presented to Hindi, Kashmiri and Dogri writers.
10	On 23 March 1983, A seminar at Akhnoor was organized. The writers were taken to Akhnoor in a special bus. Dr. Anita Charak and Dr. Archna Kesar presented papers on "Suhi Simbli De Bhitti Chittar" and "Dogri De Paihle Traun Upnyaasen De Naari Pattar" respectively.
11	On 11th December 1983, A seminar on 'Swami Brahama Nand Teertha' was organized at Mansar. Sh. J.C. Sathe presented a paper on "Sufi Influence on the Poetry of Swami Brahmanand Teertha". 30 students of M.A Dogri participated in the programme.
12	On 6th January, 1985, A seminar on the Methodology of translation was held at the Oriental Academy, Prof Ram Nath Shastri, Dr. Champa Sharma and Dr. Veena Gupta presented papers on the problems of 'Translation Poetry' Methodology and Tradition of Translation in Dogri" and "Translation of Plays into Dogri play Mallika" respectively. This seminar with special reference was specially arranged for the benefit of students doing M.A in dogri.
13	On 6th March 1986, a seminar was organised at Katra on Bhagwat Geeta was organised. This seminar was held to commemorate the golden jubliee of the first Dogri translation of Bhagwat Geeta by Prof Gauri Shankar in 1934. Prof Ram Nath Shastri adn Dr. Champa Sharma presented papers on "Geeta De pachhaukad Dogri Anuvad dia pehale" and "Geeta De Dogri Anuvad" respectively. Pandit Sansar Chand Baru presided a resolution was passed that Salal Hydel project be named as Zorawar Singh Dam.
14	On 27-12-1987, A seminar on some prominent personalities of Duggar was organized at Dogri Sanstha Jammu. Sh. Chhattar Pal, Prof. Ram Nath Shastri on "Sher-i-Duggar", Lala Hans Raj and Sh. Balraj Puri presented papers "Shaheed Sh. Ram Chander Da Jeevan Te Balidan" and "Tyag Murti Sardar Budhi singh" respectively.
15	Dogri Sanstha also organised a seminar during the theatre workshop, in which ten papers concerning theatre and teh theatre movement in Duggar were presented.
16	On 8th March, 1988, A seminar was held in Dogri Sanstha in which Prof. Ishwar Sharma, Sh. Shiv Kumar Dabalia and Dr. Champa Sharma presneted papers on "Basolhi" and "Reasi Ithihas De Darpan Ch" respectively.
17	On 24-11-1990, A seminar on the "Inclusion of Dogri" in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constituion was organized. Main speakers in the seminar were Sh. Ved Bhasin, Dr. Ved Ghai, Maj. Gen. Jagdish Singh Jamwal and Sh. Balraj Puri.
18	On 23rd March 1996, A seminar on social concerns in Dogri literature was held. Seminar was presided over by Sh. Ved Bhasin, Chairman of Kashmir Times Group, Dr. Shashi Pathania, Dr. Archana Kesar and Dr. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas presented papers.
19	Two Seminars were held on "Dogr history and Culture" On 13th and 14th December 1997. Seven papers were presented by Prof Nilamber Dev Sharma, Prof Ved Ghai, Dr. Veena Gupta, Sh. O.P. Sharma Sarthi, Sh. Dharam Chand Prasant, Dr. Jitender Udhampuri, and Sh. Chhattar Pal. In the second seminar on 27th Dec. 1997, Prof. Shiv Nirmohi presented a paper on the History and Culture of Padar.
20	On 17th March, 2002 a seminar on 'Media and Dogri' was held Sh. Chhattar Pal, Sh Ravinder Koul, Dr. Shashi Pathania and Dr. Shiv Dev Manhas presented papers. The seminar was presided over by Champa Sharma.
21	On March 9 2003, a one day seminar dedicated to Padam Dev Singh Nirdosh was held at Akhnoor. Education Minsiter Sh. Harsh Dev Singh was the Chief guest. Dr. Om Goswami and Prof Veena Gupta read the papers.
22	On March 23rd 2003, a seminar on 'Dogri and Journalism' was held. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Ram Nath Shastri. Dr. Shashi Pathania, Sh Madan Gopal Padha, Dr. Satya Pal Shrivats and Dr. Nirmal Vinod presented papers.
23	On 30th and 31st October, 2003 a seminar on the life and works of Sh. Ved Pal Deep was held. Prof Ram Nath Shastri presented teh keynote address where as the papers were presented by Prof. Nilamber Dev Sharma, Prof. Zahooru-udin, Sh. Madan Gopal Padha, Dr Om Goswami, Prof Veena Gupta and Sh. Prakash Premi. An Audio Cassette based on Ghazals of Sh. Ved Pal Deep "Khayalein Ch Koi Aaya Ai" was also released on the occasion.
24	On March 5-6 2006, a two day seminar on Dogri Folklore was held. The seminar was presided over by Sh. Madan Lal Sharma (M.P) Dr. Neerja Sharma, Prof Veena Gupta, Dr. Shashi Pathania, Prof Satya Pal Shrivats, Sh Lalit Gupta and Sh Mohan Singh presented papers on the seminar.
25	A one day seminar on the Weekly Parchol was held on the completion of a decade of its publication 31st March 2007. Dr. Shashi Pathania read a paper on 'Patra Kaarita Te Samaji Saroka' (Journalism and Social Concerns). The paper was comprehensive and well researched and contained useful information. The well known Dogri writer, journalist and a former member of Rajya Sabha. D.C Prashant was the chief guest. Dr. Ragiq Masoodi, Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy presided over the function.
